Obituary of Isaura Alves

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, that the family of Isaura Teixeira Alves announces her transition into eternal life on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Ludlowe Health Care Center, Fairfield, at the age of 94, with her loving family by her side. Born in Ludlow, MA on November 21, 1920 she was a daughter of the late Jose Joaquim Teixeira and Herminia Cesar Teixeira. Isaura was predeceased by her beloved husband Manuel Alves and three brothers, Francesco, Jose and Artur Teixeira. Along with her late husband, they were founding members of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Bridgeport. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devoted to the care and love of her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her two loving children, Lidia Alves-Esteves and her husband Alfredo and Fernando Alves and his wife Mary, all of Huntington, four cherished grandchildren, Cristina Esteves, Michael John Esteves, Lisa Marie Henckel and her husband Brad and Fernando Alves Jr. and his wife Agatha, three cherished great grandchildren, Adam, Nicole Jillian and Sydney Jessica; a brother, Joaquim Teixeira of Bridgeport, two sisters, Maria Fernandes of Waterbury and Luisa Vaz of Bridgeport, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday from 4-8 pm.
