Obituary of Lucia Maurati

Lucia Marini Maurati, age 88, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Emilio Maurati, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Torrice, Province of Frosinone, Italy on December 13, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Santa Sanita Marini. Lucia was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time tending to her gardens and farms in the United States and Italy. She treasured the time spent with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed telling them stories of growing up in Italy and the many traditions they shared. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whose love and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved her. She was predeceased by a daughter, Maria Maurati Mosco. Survivors include her four loving children, Antonio Maurati and his wife Gina of Shelton, Bernardino Maurati and his wife Charlene of Shelton, Quirino Maurati and his wife Carole of Milford and Fiorella Mallone and her husband Loreto of Trumbull, a son-in-law, Leonard Mosco of Trumbull, 11 cherished grandchildren, 8 adored great grandchildren as well four sisters, one brother and several nieces and nephews in Italy. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
