Obituary of Lyle P. Moran

Lyle P. Moran, age 56, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Leah A. Kershner Moran, passed away on Saturday, August 1st, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. Born in Bridgeport on March 25, 1959 he was a son of the late Lyle E. and Ruth Muthersbaugh Moran. Lyle was known as a great leader, creator, and friend to all who knew him. For over 30 years, he served as Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for Sikorsky Aircraft, implementing crucial initiatives to educate the industry and protect the environment. Mr. Moran was a devoted husband, father, and friend, one who helped anyone in need and welcomed all with open arms. His enthusiasm for life was infectious; his mission was to bring joy to those around him. Lyle Moran was a man known for his many passions. A die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, he was known for throwing legendary Super Bowl parties. As a comic book fan, he was known for his extensive collection, and love for The Fantastic Four. As a creator, he was known for his ability to design, build, and fabricate projects large and small, including his "Workhorse" truck. In 1979, he founded KZOA, Kawasaki Motorcycle Owners Association, which received international recognition. He was predeceased by son Tavish Moran. In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by his children Josh and Fallon Moran, daughter-in-law Melissa Hernandez Moran, grandchildren Brianna and Adam, sister Ruth Moran Krajnak and brother-in-law John Krajnak, former wife Kathy Moran, sister- and brother-in-law Monica and Mark Peterson, nieces Jessica Peterson and husband Adrian Hopkins, Jennifer Krajnak and Gail Bike, nephew Kurt Peterson, a uncle, Robert Muthersbaugh, as well as many additional nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who idolized him. At the family's request please write a fond memory of Lyle on a piece of paper and bring to the services so the family may put together a scrap book of these great memories. Prayer services will be held on Thursday August 6, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Inurnment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Relatives and friends may greet the family in the funeral home on Thursday from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral home.
