Obituary of Victoria G. Halica

Victoria G. Sosnowski Halica, age 91, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late John Halica, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2015. Born on January 19, 1924 in Salem, MA, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen Zukowska Sosnowski. She had been employed by Remington Arms as an assembler for a time. Victoria loved to go ballroom dancing with her late husband and found great enjoyment on her trips to various local casinos. She also liked to play cards, especially pinochle. A devoted wife, mother, mother in-law, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include two sons, John Halica and his wife Julianne of ME, Thomas Halica and his wife Cathy of Bridgeport, her daughter, Judy Montabana and her significant other Gary Tompkins of Orange, a brother, Frank Sosnowski and his wife Lucille of MA, a sister, Theresa Kerr of MA, daughter-in-law, Lorraine Halica of Shelton, six grandchildren, Jill Kristle, Craig Halica, Sara Perz, Michael Halica, and John and Daniel Montabana, six great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by a son, Peter William Halica and daughter-in-law, Maureen Halica. Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. Relatives and friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Southington, CT 06489.
