Obituary of Paul Simon Burstein

Paul Simon Burstein, age 67, of Shelton, beloved husband of Laura Oefinger Hoffman Burstein, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 25, 1947 in New York, NY, he was a son of the late Melvin and Betty Brand Burstein. Paul earned his MBA from Pace University before becoming employed by GE Corporate Treasury, where he worked as a financial consultant with over 31 years of dedicated service. Paul was an avid fan of the New York Mets, Jets and Rangers. He loved to travel and will be remembered for his vast wealth of knowledge and ability to answer trivia in all subject matters. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife of nearly 30 years, Laura, other survivors include his children, Jeffrey Hoffman and his companion Tammy Fowler of West Haven and George Eric Hoffman, four cherished grandchildren, Thomas Paul Hoffman, Daniel Ryan Hoffman, Jenna Lea Hoffman and Damian Alexander Hoffman, his brother, Lee Burstein and his wife Donna of Coral Springs, FL, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, William Oefinger and his companion Tracy Sutton of Tierra Verde, FL and Jack and Anne Murray of Woodbridge, a dear cousin Mary Ann Shail and her husband John of Shelton as well as several additional cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a period of remembrance and reflection taking place at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
