Obituary of Mary Fabry

Mary Gross Fabry, age 82, of Shelton passed away suddenly on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Benchmark at Split Rock Assisted Living. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald E. Fabry, Sr. Born in Bridgeport on February 13, 1933, she was a daughter of the late William and Veronica Duch Gross. A resident of Huntington for 55 years, Mary was also a very active member of the Shelton Senior Center. A longtime parishioner of St. Lawrence Church, she also found great enjoyment crocheting, sewing and doing embroidery. She also loved to play cards and enjoyed dancing, especially the Polka. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Mary Ellen Fabry and her husband Louis Cohen of Scarsdale, NY and Ronald E. Fabry, Jr. of Jackson, WY, her cherished grandson, Justin Cohen of Scarsdale, NY, her sisters, Pauline Plasko and her husband John of Trumbull and Veronica Sharnick and her husband Robert of Beacon Falls, a sister-in-law, Alicia Gross of CA and nieces and nephews, Wayne Sharnick and his wife Mary of Beacon Falls, John Plasko and his wife Lisa of Trumbull, Mark Fabry, Maureen and Robin Fabry and David and Cathy Lansing. Mary was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph W. Gross and William Gross, Jr. and her nephew, Joseph R. Gross. The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Benchmark at Split Rock Assisted Living for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
