Obituary of Agostino Cardillo

Agostino Cardillo, age 86, of Monroe, beloved husband of Antonietta Gagliardi Cardillo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly with his family by his side. Born on January 24, 1929 in Scauri, Italy, he was a son of the late Luigi and Maria Domenica Palombo Cardillo. Mr. Cardillo came to the United States in 1985 and settled in Bridgeport before becoming a longtime resident of Monroe. Agostino loved the outdoors and traveling. He was an outgoing and giving man who was always willing to help anyone. He had a creative imagination and enjoyed telling stories to his children and grandchildren of his time growing up in Italy and the great life lessons he learned. But above all he had a deep devotion and love for his wife and enjoyed spending time with his family. His values and love will continue to live on through his family and he will be deeply missed. In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Antonietta, survivors include three loving children, Gino Cardillo and his wife Maria of Monroe, Vincenzo Cardillo and his wife Carol of Fairfield and Maria Giancarli and her husband Vincent of Monroe, a daughter-in-law, Christine Cardillo of Norwich, seven cherished grandchildren, Gino, Andrea, Jessica, Enzo Cardillo, Ivana Giancarli, Daniella and Guilia Cardillo, one adored great grandson, Dakota, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Mario Cardillo. The family is grateful for the wonderful care he received at the Jewish home for the Elderly and would like to especially thank the nurses and staff of K-3. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:30 a.m. in Assumption Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial.
