Obituary of Josephine Piraneo

Josephine Piraneo, age 87, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Frank Piraneo Sr., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 2, 1927 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Christina Marino. She was a Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Church in Jamaica, Queens and an officer of the Ladies Auxiliary Italian Pharmaceutical Association. Josephine loved to sew, design, travel, sing and cook for her family. She and her late husband spent winters in St. Petersburg, FL. Above all she was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. Survivors include her two loving children, Frank Piraneo Jr., and his wife Marie of Trumbull and Diana Cullen and her husband Bob of Stormville, NY, three adored grandchildren, Joseph and Michael Piraneo and Nicole Cullen. Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, New York. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
