Obituary of Marie G. Bartomeli

Marie Manoni Bartomeli, age 89, beloved wife of Joseph P. Bartomeli, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on June 23, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Laura Perini Manoni. She was a book manager for Walden Book Store, formerly of Trumbull for over 18 years and prior to that was proud to have been employed by the Southern New England Telephone Company. In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing and later found great enjoyment cooking and taking trips to the casino with her friends and family. In addition to her beloved husband of 68 years, Joseph, survivors include two children, Sandra Burland and her husband Kevin of Newtown and Thomas Bartomeli and his wife Patricia of South Windsor, a sister, Josephine Ceccarelli of Bridgeport, two grandchildren, Lisa Morgan and her husband Adam of South Glastonbury and Mark Bartomeli of Mystic, two great grandchildren, Jack and Jenna Morgan as well as several beloved nieces, a nephew and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Anna Piccirillo, Lena Patrignelli and Jennie Manoni. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers and based on Marie's great love for all children, please make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
