Obituary of H. Jole Reed

H. Jole Reed, age 53, of Easton, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 25, 2015 after a courageous battle. Born in Chicago, IL on February 15, 1961, Jole was the daughter of Helen (Sydoryk) and the late Martin C. Reed. Jole is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Bronson Reed and her daughters, Taylor and Micki. Jole is also survived by her sisters Susan (Ed Liljekvist) and Nancy (Art Hudson), nieces Marti-Anne (Rick Shew) and Arlie Hudson; nephew Reed Hudson and in-laws Howard and JoAnne Reed. Jole graduated from Lake Zurich High School Illinois in 1979. She was employed in the travel industry before her daughters were born, dedicating her time to raising her family thereafter. A very gifted and creative person, Jole excelled at cooking, interior decorating, murals and faux finishes, stained glass and jewelry designs. She was a very independent spirit, fiercely protective of her friends and family, yet kind hearted and extremely generous with her time and love. Always fashionably dressed, yet she still enjoyed taking care of yard and gardening work herself. She leaves behind many, many friends from her homes in Chicago, IL, Houston, TX, Boston, MA, Dousman, WI, Dublin, OH, Zurich, CH, Concord, OH and Easton, CT. She lived a wonderful life, full of adventure, surrounded by family, friends, love and laughter. She will continue to be loved by many and is impossible to forget. She was unique, genuine and left a strong impression from the very moment you met. For Jole, meeting a stranger was an opportunity to make a new friend. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the staff at St. Vincent's Hospital and especially everyone at Medical Specialists of Fairfield for all the love and compassion they provided during these difficult times. Respecting Jole's wishes, a memorial celebration will be organized this spring with details to be communicated at a later date.
