Obituary of Anna Amodio

Anna Ciarcia Amodio, age 91, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Anthony Amodio, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Gardner Heights, Shelton. Born in Sicily, Italy on December 24, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Sally Reale Ciarcia. Before her retirement Mrs. Amodio was a co-owner with her husband of the former Post Office Lunch of Bridgeport for over 20 years. She enjoyed her time spent at Gardner Heights. She loved the staff and the community there and especially liked going on their many outings. Anna looked forward to the time spent with her children and grandchildren and the Sunday dinners together. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Formato and her husband Tony of Bridgeport and Sally Amodio of Bridgeport, five grandchildren, Joseph Formato and his wife Michelle of Bridgeport, Michael Formato and his wife Cynthia of Shelton, Anthony Formato and his wife Maggie of Oxford, Lisa German-Soto and her husband Jose of Bridgeport, Vincent Trentini and his wife Bertha of Bridgeport, eleven great grandchildren, AJ, Mia, Alisa, Max, Leo, Stella, Scarlet, Nissa, Rayden, Joseph and Victoria as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December, 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 481 Brewster St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Garden Mausoleum, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Monday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Gardner Heights, 172 Rocky Rest Rd., Shelton, CT 06484.
