Obituary of Vincent J. Verdi

Vincent J. Verdi, age 99, beloved husband of Viola Cimarelli Verdi of Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Maefair Health Care. Born in Bridgeport on December 24, 1914, Mr. Verdi was the owner and operator of Verdi's Hardware, formerly of Madison Ave., for over 25 years. Vincent was a skilled craftsman and a jack of all trades. He loved fixing things and could always be found working around the house. In addition to his wife Viola of 75 years, he leaves two sons, Richard Verdi of Milford and Thomas Verdi and his wife Gloria of Bridgeport, three grandchildren, Amber Mauro and her husband Luke of Stratford, Anthony Verdi and Daniel Verdi both of Milford and a great grandson, Nicholas Mauro, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave, Bridgeport, on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
