Obituary of Edward J. Sul

Edward J. Sul, Sr., age 88, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Carmela Mildred "Millie" Paternoster, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Apple Rehab Shelton Lakes. Born on May 13, 1926, he was a son of the late Stanley and Anna Baldega Sul. Mr. Sul was very proud of his military background. He served active duty in Central Europe during World War II in the U.S. Army 110th Infantry and was honorably discharged on July 6, 1946. He was employed by Hanes Brothers, now Hatch and Bailing of Norwalk, where he worked as a truck driver for many years. An avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan, Ed will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include a son, Edward Sul, Jr. and his wife Ann of Tennessee, two daughters, Anna Ferrarese of Fairfield and Theresa Damore of Hamden, a sister, Ann Renz of Trumbull, grandchildren, Ralph Ferrarese, Jr., Marisa Asarisi and her husband Chuck, Gina Marie Ferrarese, Jason Castaldi, Michael Castaldi, Janene Castaldi, Edward Sul, III, Nicole Sul and Joseph Sul, two great grandchildren, Angelina and Benjamin Asarisi. He is also survived by stepchildren, Lucille Rummo of Stratford, Donna Lapke of Orange, Nick Esposito and his wife Debbie of Shelton and Thomas Esposito and his wife Jennifer of Derby, step grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher, Patrick, Alison and her husband Michael, Tommy and his wife Kristen, Kami and her husband Matt, Gina and her husband Marcos, Lindsay and her husband Konstantine and Nicole and her husband Dave, step great grandchildren, Michael, Jenna, Matthew, Katie, Sofia, Talia, Olivia and Lizzy. In addition to his beloved wife, Millie, he was also predeceased by three brothers, Stanley, Lawrence and Joseph Sul. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 12-4 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boys and Girls Village, 528 Wheelers Farm Rd., Milford, CT 06460.
