Obituary of Antonia Aprilino Buffone

Antonia Aprilino Buffone, age 94, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Antonio Buffone, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Amentea, Province of Cosenza, Calabria Italy, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Domenica Provenzano Aprilino and was a longtime resident of Bridgeport. Before her retirement she was employed at the former Darco Music Strings. Antonia was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family. Survivors include three loving sons, Salvatore Buffone of New Haven, Frank Buffone and his wife Ornella of Bridgeport, Nicola Buffone and his wife Susan of Milford, two devoted daughters, Saveria Gawryluki and her husband George of Canada, Rita Romano and her husband Michael of Trumbull, 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Anna Gagliardi. The family would like to thank her dear friend, Yvonne Rosso, who was always by her side, even in her final days and Maria Costantini for all her care and compassion as well as the 3rd floor staff, A wing, at St. Joseph's Manor and the doctors and staff at St. Vincent's for all their professional and loving care. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Chapel Mausoleum, Bridgeport. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements in care of The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
