Obituary of Agostino "Augie" S. Corica

Agostino S. "Augie" Corica, age 85, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Joan D. Corica passed away peacefully on October 31, 2014 at Bridgeport Hospital. Augie was born January 10, 1929, in Bridgeport, a son of the late Carmelo and Domenica Lipari Corica and was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. Augie was a Korean Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. Before his retirement he was an insurance agent with Metropolitan Insurance Co. with over 35 years of service. Augie was very involved in local Bridgeport politics and legislation which led him to become an aide to then Senator, Lowell P. Weicker, Jr. He was one of the original members of the Republican Action League, a commissioner to the Greater Bridgeport Transit District among many other boards and commissions. Survivors include his three sons, Carmen Corica and his wife Dawn, Danny Michael Corica and his wife Diane and Augustine D. Corica. He was especially proud of his four grandchildren, Dan Augustine, Paige Ann, Nicole Marie and Carmine John Corica. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Grace, Judy and Barbara Corica as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Agresta and three brothers, Dominic, Joe and Carmen Corica. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull followed by interment with military honors in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday, November 2, 2014, from 1-5 pm at the funeral home.
