Obituary of Eleanor J. Bowden

Eleanor Ferrusi Bowden, age 86, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Edmund W. Bowden, beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on June 8, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Frances Matera Ferrusi and was a lifelong area resident. Before her retirement, Mrs. Bowden was an administrative assistant with the City of Bridgeport Housing Code Department for 24 years. Survivors include three children, Mary Beth Bombardieri and her husband Richard of Murrells Inlet, SC, Christopher Bowden and his wife Nancy of Trumbull, and Donna Bowden of Newtown, six grandchildren, Brendan Shanley (wife Jennia), Matthew, Joy and Beau Bowden, Patrick and Emma Herring as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Dominic Ferrusi and two sisters, Jeen Ferrusi and Anna Mae Sciarappa. The family would like to thank Eleanor's loving caregivers, Denise Buckley, Maria Adams and Kayla Buckley and the staff at Masonic Care Hospice. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Stephen's Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
