Obituary of John L. Criscione

John L. Criscione, age 89, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Mary Blundo Criscione, died on Friday, September 5, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in East Hampton, Long Island, NY on October 11, 1924, he was a son of the late Angelo and Salvatrice Minardi Criscione. Mr. Criscione was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was employed at Fruitrich Cadillac-Oldsmobile with over 30 years of dedicated service and retiring as general manager. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Assumption Council #11077, and enjoyed playing golf and spending the winters in Florida. John was a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather and cherished the time he spent with his family. In addition to his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary, survivors include two daughters, Janet Szymansky and her husband Edward of Shelton, Joanne Hilbert and her husband Kenneth of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, six grandchildren, Mark Criscione and his wife Holly, Beth Criscione, Sarah Grieb and her husband Brian, Joseph, Jesse and Jake Szymansky and a great granddaughter, Samantha Criscione as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, John Criscione, Jr. Friends are invited to meet directly in Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
