Obituary of Marian D. Verrilli

Marian DelBuono Verrilli, of Fairfield, devoted wife for 66 years of Anthony Verrilli, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Fairfield, she was born October 10, 1923 to Joseph and Josephine (DiGirolomo) DelBuono. She proudly served her country during World War II after enlisting in the Navy Nurses Corps. She was an accomplished woman who pursued a long teaching career. After retiring from teaching, Mrs. Verrilli returned to college and became a registered nurse. She was a devoted mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marian spent her retirement years traveling the world with her husband. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. In addition to her husband Anthony, she is survived by her three children, Linda Rainieri and her husband Richard of Shelton, Donna Piccolo and her husband Anthony of Trumbull, and Anthony J. Verrilli of Hudson, NH, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nora Vayser of Fairfield, her brother, Joseph Del Buono Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Fairfield and Miami, FL and sister-in-law, Irene DelBuono of Southport. She was pre-deceased by her youngest son, Michael Verrilli and her older brother, Robert DelBuono. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Dr., Fairfield on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
