Obituary of Anthony Esposito Sr.

Anthony Esposito, Sr., age 85, of Trumbull passed away suddenly on Monday, July 14, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Elena Gigliotti Esposito. Born in Nicastro, Province of Lamezia Terme, Italy on September 14, 1928, he was a son of the late Giovanni and Concetta Pingitore Esposito. Anthony was employed by the Bassick Company of Bridgeport, where he worked as a tool and die maker before his retirement with over 30 years of dedicated service. Anthony found great enjoyment on his trips to the casino and tending to the vegetables in his garden, however, his greatest pleasure in life was found in the time he spent with his grandchildren and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife of 63 years, Elena, survivors include his children, John Esposito and his wife Rosemarie of Shelton, Anthony Esposito, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Trumbull and Mary Riehl and her husband David of Trumbull, six cherished grandchildren, Nicole, John Anthony and Gina Esposito, and David, Joseph and Emily Riehl. He was predeceased by his brothers, Francesco and Vincenzo Esposito and sisters, Angelina and Concetta. He has several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to go directly to St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
