Obituary of Arcangelo Valentino

Arcangelo Valentino, 81, of Trumbull, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the NY-Presbyterian Hospital. Born in Casagiove, Caserta to Giovanni Valentino and Fiorita Durante, he lived most of his life in Trumbull where he raised his family. Arcangelo was a kind and passionate man who enjoyed working on automotives. At the tender age of 10, he began crafting his skills as a mechanic under the tutelage of a master professional in Italy. While in Italy, Arcangelo was proud to have served in the Arma dei Carabinieri for over six years. Upon arriving to the U.S., he utilized his honed skills first at Keating Ford of Bridgeport and later at United Parcel Service, Stratford Hub, where he was employed for over 20 years. In his spare time he enjoyed working on cars, his home and garden, and playing cards. He was an avid soccer fan and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, all of which encompassed family, friends and his strong faith. He is survived by his best friend and wife of over 50 years, Annantonia, and was extremely loving and proud of his three children, Giovanni (John) Valentino and his wife, Bridget, of Trumbull, Fiorita Valentino of Bridgeport, and Gaetano Valentino, of Trumbull, and two beloved grandchildren, Dante and Brittani. He is also survived by his sisters, Gemma Valentino of Caserta Italy and Maria Dutko of New Castle, PA; his brother, Nicola Valentino, Capua, Italy, as well as his many loving nieces, nephews and other friends. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Frank and Rodolfo Valentino and two sisters, Gaetana Valentino and Caterina Viglione. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St Theresas Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the family mausoleum at St. Johns Cemetery, Monroe.
