Peter Francis D’Addario, age 79, of Trumbull, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 with his family by his side in St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Born on January 20, 1931 in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Peter (Pietro) and Domenica Bonitatibus D’Addario. Peter was a veteran of the Korean War, having served as the drummer of the U.S. Army band. He also toured the country as the drummer of the Sauter-Finegan Band and was a member of the Bridgeport Jazz Giants who performed at the Newport Jazz Festival in the 60’s in Newport, RI. Peter was the proprietor of P. F. D’Addario’s Music Store for over 50 years. Peter will be lovingly remembered as an honest and generous businessman and a devoted family man and friend. Peter is survived by his loving wife Joyce Fletcher D’Addario of Trumbull, his sister, Nancy D. Pinto of Monroe, his loving daughter, Denise D. Weed and his “favorite son-in-law”, Dr. William C. Weed of Trumbull, his grandchildren, Peter Fletcher Weed, Allison Hanson Weed, John Conant Weed and William Curtis Weed Jr., his devoted nephew, Alexander D’Addario and his wife Cheryl of Seymour, his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Fletcher of Shelton and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to recognize the compassionate care provided by the nurses and doctors at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, in particular, the family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Peter’s physician and dear friend Dr. Frank Scifo. Funeral InformationFuneral services will take place on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull.
