Gabriel J. Lombardi

Gabriel J. Lombardi, age, 90, of Stratford, died peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at his home. Born in Bridgeport on November 2, 1917, he was a son of the late John and Gertrude Scinto Lombardi. Mr. Lombardi served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a machinist at Sikorsky Aircraft for 31 years before his retirement. After the death of his son, Gabe moved in with his nephew George Flathers and his wife Donna of Stratford where he remained until his death. Gabe spent his final days surrounded by his family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Connecticut Hospice of Shelton for their help and support and his physician Dr. Anthony Ciccaglione. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Robinson Lombardi; a son, John G. Lombardi; a brother, Louis Lombardi and a sister Josephine Moore. Survivors include a sister, Martha Flathers of Stratford and several nieces and nephews.
