RAMSAY- David Todd Ramsay, age 48, of Stratford, beloved husband of Mary Jean (Griffin) Ramsay, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Southington on December 9, 1960, he was the son of Stewart Ramsay and the late Sylvia Ramsay. He was a police officer in the towns of Southington and Wolcott before becoming a plumbing and heating supply salesman in the Fairfield County area. “Captain Dave” as he was affectionately known was an avid boater and fisherman. He was a
“Reel Parrot Head” being one of Jimmy Buffett’s biggest followers as well as an enthusiastic Mets and Patriots fan. Never being one to pass up an opportunity for a laugh or good time, he was always willing to share a fishing tale with his extended family on B dock at Brewer’s Marina. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his step-son Michael D’Onofrio Jr., his brothers, Mark Ramsay and his wife Maria, Peter Ramsay and his wife Rachel, brother-in-law, James Griffin and his wife Eileen Gorman, sisters-in-law, Laurel Adams and her husband Mark, Lisa Griffin and her husband Ernie Cruz, Elizabeth Christiansen and her husband David, nieces and nephews, Morgan, Megan, Justin, Kaylan, Emma, Maeve, Laura, Stephen and Daniel, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by his beloved dog Maya. The family would like to thank the employees of St. Vincent’s Medical Center, especially the staff of 7 East, CVU and ICU for their compassionate care.

Funeral Information

Friends can greet the family on Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
