Ronald F. Wicke, 56, of Norwalk, CT (formerly of Trumbull), passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, with his family by his side, at St. Vincent Medical Center, in Bridgeport, CT. Born in Norwalk, CT, on February 28, 1956, he was a graduate of Brian McMahon High School. He was the son of Fredrick Wicke and Jean Olsen Wicke. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Ann Bodnar Wicke, his cherished children Brian Wicke, of Burlington, VT, and Erika Wicke, of Norwalk, CT, and his beloved buddy, Fudge. Ron was an entrepreneur exploring many different avenues. His most recent endeavor was becoming the passionate cofounder of “Stop the Abuse Campaign”. Ron was an amazing chef and enjoyed sharing his food with friends and family. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants, Yankees, and Rangers. One of Ron’s greatest joys was being involved in his children’s athletic accomplishments. The family would like to thank all of his doctors and nurses on 9 South for their care and compassion. He will be truly missed by all of his friends and family. Ron is also survived by his father; his step-mother, Elizabeth Wicke; his sister, Debora Johannesen (Gary), of Warren, VT; his brother, David Wicke (Rebecca), of Fairfield, CT; his mother-in-law, Anne Bodnar; his brothers and sisters in law, Paul Bodnar (Patricia), Patricia Sombati (John), Lynn Wade, Thomas Bodnar (Debra); and his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother; his father-in-law, Joseph Bodnar and brother-in-law, David Wade.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd, Trumbull on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wicke family through the funeral director.
