BANKS – George A. Banks Jr., age 81, of Bridgeport, a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in New Milford on July 18, 1923, he was a son of the late George Sr. and Isabelle Richmond Banks, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II. Mr Banks was very active with the Connecticut Skylarks and the St. Raphael Drum and Bugle Corp. Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Caterina Ingrassia Banks, two devoted children, a son, Dennis Banks and his wife Judy of Ansonia, a daughter, Linda Loschiavo and her husband Joe of Orange, five cherished grandchildren , Joseph, Brian, Joy, Jaime and Justin, three great grandchildren, Gianna, Maggie and Julia and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Clifford Banks. Funeral InformationFriends are invited to meet directly on Saturday May 7, 2005 at 10:00 AM directly in St. Ambrose Church, 1596 Boston Ave., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
