Julia Hreschak Tomek, age 89, of Trumbull, a homemaker, died Thursday, October 7, 2004 in Maefair Health Care Center, Trumbull. Born and raised in Shelton, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna Kosa Hreschak, and formerly resided in Bridgeport before moving to Stern Village in Trumbull over 25 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph G. Tomek Sr., a daughter, Millie Tomek and two brothers, George and John Hreschak. Survivors include a son, Joseph Tomek Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Stratford, two daughters, Mary J. Scrivani of Hamden and Carole Metro and her husband, Ray of Shelton, a brother, Peter Hreschak of Trumbull, her special granddaughter, Christina Nicolett, seven additional grandchildren, Kathy Brown, Gary Scrivani, Raymond Metro Jr., Julie, Michael and Peter Scrivani and Greg Metro, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family fondly remembers her complete devotion to her children, Granny’s close relationship with her grand and great –grand children, and her legendary cooking. Her lust for life, quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all. Funeral InformationFuneral services will take place on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
