Gloria Borgognone Carbone, age 80, of Newtown, beloved wife of 44 years of Peter J. Carbone, died on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on January 27, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Rogerio and Mary Scapellati Borgognone. She was a retired Vice President from PC Metals Inc. of Bridgeport. Mrs. Carbone had a passion for cooking for her family and truly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed. In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter Gloriana Carbone Tardie and her husband Ken of Newtown, two grandchildren Weston and Tanner, a special nephew Joseph Arsenault as well as several additional nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Sal and Peter Borgognone and a sister Cecelia Arsenault. Funeral InformationFriends are invited to meet directly in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Fairfield, 1719 Post Rd., Fairfield on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
