Michael Magyar, age 90, of Trumbull, died on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Manor. Born in Stratford on October 14, 1918, he was a son of the late Michael and Rose Sardak Magyar. Michael retired from his military service after 25 years of dedication serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Mike received several commendation medals including a Bronze Star for service during the attack on Pearl Harbor. A longtime resident of Trumbull, he worked as a security guard at the former City National Bank and also as a Special Policeman for the Town of Trumbull. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Gus and Andrew Magyar and a sister-in-law Phyllis Magyar. Survivors include a brother Stephen Magyar of Denver, his nephew William Magyar and his wife Pamela of Atlanta, niece Andrea Cordone and her husband Angelo of Trumbull as well as several additional nieces and nephews.
