U. S. Army Veteran of World War II

Jerome (Jerry) Pace, age 83, of Bridgeport, a retired store manager for First National Supermarkets, died on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 3030 Park Health Care, Fairfield. Born in Bridgeport and raised in Stratford, he was a son of the late Dominick and Philomena Lombardo Pace. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and was proud to have participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. Jerry was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans, a member and past officer of the Marchegiana Society, Trinacria M.A. Society, UNICO Bridgeport Chapter, Italian Graduate Scholarship Committee, and was honored by the State of CT for dedication to the Italian American Community. He also volunteered on the Barnum Festival Parade Committee and Swim Across the Sound. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Michael and a sister, Mary. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Eva Mencucci Pace, a son, Richard G. Pace and his wife Patti, of Diamond Bar, CA, three grandchildren, Michael Pace and his wife, Myrna, Nicholas and Jeffrey Pace, two great granddaughters, Allisan and Kendra and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 26, 2006 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with military honors will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends and relatives may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
